Book Description:

The trial of twenty-five year old Casey Anthony for the death of her daughter Caylee was the most sensational case in America since O.J. Simpson’s—with a verdict every bit as stunning. After being acquitted in July 2011, Ms. Anthony instantly became one of the most infamous women in the world. Dr. Keith Ablow distills tens of thousands of pages of documents he has obtained, his behind-the-camera, one-on one interviews, and his decades of experience in the world of forensic psychiatry to make sense of a woman whose defense attorney described as an innocent victim of childhood sexual abuse, but the state insisted was a cold-blooded murderer. Inside the Mind of Casey Anthony delivers an incisive, riveting way of understanding this troubled young woman.

  1. I don’t why SJ is recommending Ablow’s book. I read some previews on Amazon.com although it does point the finger quite a bit at George the creep and Cindy. It doesn’t paint a very nice picture of Casey either. It makes Casey look like she is completely nuts.

    • Hi Jon. I can only give you the same reply as I did last week to the same question. Keith’s book is written from a forensic psychiatrists’ perspective, as opposed to many of the finger-pointing hate fest & sour grapes riddled fiction titles already out there. He has no “hidden agenda” nor an axe to grind.

It also includes a lot of information previously unreleased (as seen in the sample pages @ Amazon) so it should be an interesting read. Whether you buy it is up to you, but as we all know, nothing is ever gonna come close to a book from Casey herself. Thanks for posting again & Happy Thanksgiving! SJ

      • I ordered my copy from Amazon today. I truly think Casey had a traumatic childhood and that did in fact affect her. I have been reading George’s deposition with the State…he is such a slime ball. It is so obvious that he is kissing the State’s ass, trying to come across as this great dad. He blames everything on others…it’s never HIS fault. He is a creep. I was married to a guy that never ever took responsibility for himself…and George sounds JUST like him. I really do hope to hear from Casey someday…but truly I think Dr. Ablow has a pretty good idea of what went wrong in Casey’s life. I feel for he, I really do…but I think she has some issues that she needs to get help for. I think SHE knows she has issues she needs to get help for. I think those issues stem from George’s abuse and Cindy’s control issues. BTW…I think Cindy is also an abuse victim. Perhaps she is a sexual abuse victim…but I don’t really believe that she rules the house…I think George is emotionally abusive to her too. I think he loves to come across as this passive, “whipped” man, but I truly don’t think he is. This is all just my opinion of course. At any rate, I can’t wait to read Dr. Ablow’s book. I won’t touch Jeff Ashton’s book. All lies, I believe! What a whiny, sore loser!

  2. Dr. Ablow’s book was insightful and sarcastically hilarious about the foibles of Casey’s parents, (but not disrespectful about the tragedy) One of the best books I’ve read, and shows her point of view. I can not imagine how someone could not have some measure of compassion for Miss Anthony after reading it. I wish he’d describe more of the verbal abuse from Cindy: negativity and throwing past failures in her daughters’ face: belittling and then no setting of boundaries. My dad is a control freak who would deliberately upset family members in order to console or spoil them. Few who haven’t lived it realize what a hell that is. I hope Casey considers seeing the author – while he suspects her culpability amongst several theories – he sounds genuinely concerned for her rather than wanting to destroy her.
